Description: doxorubicin actinomycete Streptomyces var caesius produce antibiotics.Common clinical form of its hydrochloride. This product is a similar chemical structure anddaunorubicin, the daunorubicin by chemical conversion in the system. Synthetic chemicalsis now available.
Pharmacological effects: the tumor cells to penetrate into the cells and DNA cross linking, inhibition of DNA replication, and block RNA polymerase, inhibiting RNA synthesis; itscytotoxicity and free radical formation, and tumor cell membrane and break fast the cell membrane. Indications: for the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, acutemyelogenous leukemia, Hodgkin' s disease and non-Hodgkin' s disease, lymphoma, breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer, soft tissue sarcoma, osteosarcoma, rhabdomyosarcoma, Wilms cell tumor, neuroblastoma, bladder tumor, thyroid tumor, choriocarcinoma, prostate cancer, testicular cancer, stomach cancer, liver cancer. Maintoxicity was myelosuppression and cardiac toxicity.
Physical Properties: Appearance is orange-red needle-like hygroscopic powder, melting point 201-205C. Soluble in water, pure water at 4 C are stable when stored closedmore than 1 month, after heating decomposition. Soluble in alcohol solution. Dissolved inisotonic sodium chloride solution. Slightly soluble in anhydrous methanol. Insoluble non-polar organic solvents such as acetone, benzene, chloroform, ether, esters and other organic solvents.
