Characteristics: White amorphous powder, odorless, smell-less and nontoxic. It is soluble in acid and ammonium salt solution, difficult to dissolve in water, and insoluble in alcohol. And can be changed into crystal by high-temperature burning above 1000oC, and into dead-burned magnesium oxide or sintered magnesium oxide above 1500oC. When meeting with carbon dioxide in the air, it shall produce basic magnesium carbonate. Active magnesium oxide, based on its iodine absorption value, can be divided into three kinds, including high active ( ultra light) , medium active ( medium light) and low active ( light) ; Its iodine absorption value respectively is 120-180, 50-80 and 19-43mgI2 per gram of MgO.
Uses: It is mainly used as accelerating agent and activating agent of chloroprene rubber and fluorine rubber, as well as fillers of adhesive, paint and paper. And also can be used to manufacture pottery and porcelain, enamel, refractory materials and magnesium oxide cement, etc. In pharmaceutical industry, it can be used as anti-acid agent and laxatives.Processing Method: Soda Method, Ammonium Bicarbonate Method
