Characteristice: A medium molecular weight copolymer containing approximately 81 percent vinyl chloride, 4 percent vinyl acetate, and 15 percent hydroxyalkyl acrylate, with the hydroxyl content at 1.9 percent. VAF-P has excellent adhesion on paper, polysulfone resin, acrylic resin, PVC, ABS, PC and the surface of ink.
VAF-P has good compatibility with other film-forming material, such as alkyd resins, polyurethane elastomers, isocyanate resin, melamine resin, urea-formaldehyde, epoxy polymers and so on. So VAF-P is often used with other film-forming material in order to improve the coating performance, and enhance paint adhesion, flexibility, tenacity, hardness and chemical resistance. The hydroxyl functional group permits crosslinking reactions for thermoset coating systems that exhibit outstanding chemical and water resistance. VAF-P resin solution viscosity and other characteristics is very similar to VAH, because of its low molecular weight, with greater solubility, it can be configured with a high level of resin solid content.

Solubility: Ketones is a particularly good solvent, and esters is the relatively weak solvent. Chlorinated hydrocarbons such as dichloroethane and 1, 2 - dichloroethane can completely dissolve VAF-P, and methyl chloroform and tetrachloroethane can only swell it. Aromatic hydrocarbons have a good role in the swelling, generally using with ketone. VAF-P can be dissolved in relatively strong solvent/ diluent combinations, such as 50 percent ketone/ 50 percent aromatic hydrocarbon, to produce resin solutions of 22-25 percent solids.

Application:
VAF-P can be used for a wide range of coatings applications for maintenance, marine and metal finishes, wood and plastic finishes, paper coatings, PET inks, adhesive for magnetic tape and carbon ribbon.
