Established in 1982 as a joint venture with Manufacturer Hanover Leasing Corporation , United States, PT BFI Finance Indonesia Tbk. ( BFI) is one of the oldest finance company in Indonesia. In 1986, the National Commercial Bank and PT Essompark Ltd.. , Hong Kong, took over ownership of the Manufacturer Hanover Leasing Corporation in the Company. In 1990, the Company changed its operating license to carry on business finance companies and changed its name to PT Bunas Finance Indonesia. In the same year the Company changed its status to a public company after its shares on the Jakarta Stock Exchange ( JSX) and the Surabaya Stock Exchange ( SSX) . BFI is one of the first finance company became a public company in 1990.

Through the economic crisis in Asia, which started in 1997, BFI successfully restructured debt faster in 2001 and without government assistance programs and the Company' s name was changed to PT BFI Finance Indonesia Tbk. Currently Indonesia BFI became a public company that is majority owned by foreigners, mostly leading financial institutions. BFI has been a financial services company that is reputable, solid financial and operational terms.

BFI focuses its business activities on the financing of four-wheeled vehicles and two, with the target to the middle class people and lower middle. The company also financed heavy equipment through the Lease. Geographically, the Company' s business is spread all over Indonesia, and became one of the finance companies with the most diverse in the country.

Currently BFI has over 220 outlets spread across Indonesia. Supported by more than 6, 000 employees, the BFI is able to acquire and process the applications from the public quickly, and collect receivables to customers with an efficient working system. The company' s performance is very good from year to year makes BFI is able to achieve a variety of significant achievements and awards.
