Specification

This transmission is typically arranged between the output flange of a flange mounted marine gear and the propeller shaft.

It has an integrated thrust bearing to take the propeller thrust directly to the hull, this way taking away the thrust from the gear/ engine unit. Therefore the engine is free of thrust and it can consequently be placed on much softer flexible mounts, in order to isolate the hull against the noise and vibration of the Diesel engine.

The torque is transmitted form the gear to the propeller shaft by a unique flexible shaft, which provides double cardanic features and constant velocity, flexibility in all directions with low reaction forces and damping of noise and vibration due to its combination of a highly flexible CENTAFLEX rubber element with a CV-joint.
