Singaporean doing business in Vietnam for last 13 years. Together with my Vietnamese wife, we co-owned 2 JV factories in Vietnam and a wholly owned Vietnam incorporated import/ export cum distribution company named QW International Co. Ltd. with our own team of salesman & trucks for distribution to most of the 64 provinces within Vietnam. Some of our imported product and Vietnam product are also distributed to south China, Laos and Cambodia markets. 80% of our sales volume are done through the traditional sales channel of retail shops & neighbourhood grocery shops while rest are to supermarkets, minimarts, Metro Cash & Carry, wholesalers, etc.
QW International also has other Vietnamese associate companies and together we hold product distribution rights for Vietnam market in a number of product from biscuits, crackers, sandwiched biscuits, wafers, cookies, snacks, corn rolls, candies ( hard, soft & centered filled) , marshmallow, chocolates, instant noodles, fresh milk, flavoured fruit drinks, sparking wine, champagne and table wine and since 2001 has imported toiletries. Our imported product sources are mainly from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines that have C.O. Form D ( for ASEAN import tax prefrential treatment) and chocolates ( like Ferrero Rocher, Ritter Sports, Droste) from Australia & Europe.
