Famous Pacific Shipping ( HK ) Ltd is one of the founder members of Famous Pacific Shipping Group.
The company was established on June 26, 1990 by three Directors  ¨ C Mr. Edmond Tong, Mr. Patrick Lau and Mr. Benny Ling with 20 staff; in the first year, the company concentrated to groupage service from Hong Kong to Indian Sub-Continent and she becomes a major player to this region ex. Hong Kong.
Diversifying the business, offering one-stop shop and globalize service to customers are the goals to be achieved by the management and staff, the company proceeds her plan to extend groupage and FCL services to the area / port in  ¨ C Africa, Persian Gulf, Intra-Asia, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Mediterranean, USA, Canada, Latin America and China.
Having an exclusive global network is important tool to earn the support from market and to strengthen business power, the company started to build up a wide range agency core to cater the continuous demands. Preliminary ideas of establish a group amongst the agents and set up overseas offices in some potential markets was put to the meeting table in 1992.
The company decided to go onward with this idea and joined with the agents, who are having same concept, to form a real Asian based forwarding group. A new forwarding group namely Famous Pacific Shipping Group is operated in market from 1994 while the 1st and 2nd overseas offices in Sydney and Melbourne of Australia are set in July of same year.
One of the developments on agency network, the company will certainly not to deny the self-expansion in Hong Kong business. Out of export service, the company has run import and transshipment service rapidly in 1995 to cover all regions globally, also over 60 staff were under employment.
As a step stone and transshipment hub for the biggest and prospective market - China, the company started to build up own network over 13 major international ports in the country since 1996; the result proves this plan is correct as more and more opportunities and business for overseas have been generating directly in China.
During the economic crisis over Asia in 1997, most of the industries in Asia and Hong Kong faced a very tough challenge; however, management of the company believes that offering wide range service with professional way as well as further investment is the way to lead the company escape from the difficult environment. In this regard, the company invested over one million US dollars to set up a full-equipped warehouse with a size of 4, 000 Sq meters inside the Hong Kong Container Port area to have better control to every single shipment. After three extensions, size of own operated CFS has been expanded to 12, 000 Sq meters with a volume exceed 600, 000Cubic Meters in a year as well as a trucking team consist of 25 units of local container truckers and 14 units of cross China / Hong Kong border container truckers.
In order to suit the demands of Group ¡  ¯ s business expansion, management determined to rename the company from Pacific Bridge Services Ltd to existing name from 1st January 2000; management of FPS Hong Kong confidences that having support from global network under FPS umbrella will bring the business to a new milestone.
Upto now, Famous Pacific Shipping ( HK ) Ltd employs 80 staff and offers export groupage service to 95 ports over the world with annual volume about 250, 000 CBM; meantime, the company handles about 220, 000 CBM of import cargoes from 40 ports. Accumulating the import & export FCL, annual volume is handled in Hong Kong exceeds 50, 000 TEUs.
