Specification :

Castings which are too large or too heavy cannot be carried to the wheel; the wheel has to be brought to the workpiece. Swing frame grinders use grinding wheels in diameter range 300 - 600 mm.

The peripheral speed can be 50 m/ s, 63 m/ s or 80 m/ s. Wheels which run at 50 m/ s and 63 m/ s are applied withough glass fibre reinforcement, altough for the 63 m/ s it is still often desired as an extra safety precaution.

Grinding wheels with 80 m/ s have to be fibre reinforced.
