Just about everyone loves the tastes of an ice cold beverage such as soda, iced tea, or even water. Most people drink such beverages with the use of a straw since a drink lid, sanitary issues, or other factors require straw usage. As such, the drinker does not âseeâ or âfeelâ the beverage until it is in his or her mouth. While most times this works out fine, there are instances in which foreign objects such as lemon seeds, ice chips, and un-dissolved solids may shoot up the straw and startle the drinker at the very least. In some instances, choking may even result.
Inventor Brother Masterwork has developed a clever innovation that is a disposable drinking straw that prevents foreign particles such as lemon seeds, ice chips, and the like from being sucked up through the straw.
The Safety Drinking Straw appears as a conventional straw commonly used with cold beverages; however, a closer look reveals that the lower end of the straw is provided with an âXâ-shaped guard across the open end, thus effectively bisecting the straw diameter into 4 equally sized openings. As such, large particles or items such as lemon seeds, ice chips, and the like would be unable to enter the strawâs end during the suction act of drinking. This allows the invention to effectively act like a filter, without negatively reducing the flow or âdraftâ pressure of the straw.
