Thickness - Wet film thickness gauge This gauge is an instrument to measure the thickness of wet coat films of print ink, paint and other coats. The system is a polished metallic ring mass, composed of two identical outer rings and an inner ring slightly smaller than them. When the ring is rolled some distance on the wet film, the non-painted line starts emerging: at this point, the depth of the applied paint can be read on the scale.
