Injection molding Compression Molding
GCPIâ „ ¢ is an easy melt, processable thermoplastic polyimide resin .We has developed a number of products to satisfy the specific requirements of customers. use of appropriate additives, and unique processing capabilities, properties such as wear resistance, thermal resistance, low coefficient of friction, creep resistance, self-lubrication, chemical resistance, electrical and dimensional capability can be achieved.
We are confident its ability to meet so many performance requirements while allowing engineers and designers to reach new levels of systems cost savings, differentiation, and quality. Its design and processing flexibility allows it to be used in many types of applications, Whether you need an unfilled grade for high purity applications or filled for improved strength, wear, and electrical conductivity, we can meet your needs.
GCPIâ „ ¢ PI ( polyimide) is a unique and highly stable linear heterocyclic polymer. PI exhibits excellent thermal stability, resistance to chemicals, acid and base hydrolysis and temperature resistance. Depending upon the application and duration â € “ this PI can withstand temperatures as high as 260C, and in short bursts, to 360C. PI is a thermoplastic polymer with a Tg of 260 C. It does not burn. And it is not limited to high temperatures. PI maintains its properties as low as -196C.
Ideally suited for its application in extreme environments, PI can be formed into stock shapes and subsequently machined into high precision finished parts. Since PI does not have a melt point, moldings from PI polymer can only be formed in a patented high temperature, high pressure compression molding process.
PI is highly resistant to deformation, and has low hysterisis losses and high elastic recovery. PI exhibits ductile failure, and may be compressed to over 50% strain without fracture. GCPIâ „ ¢ PI has the highest compressive strength of any thermoplastic .
There is no weight loss or change in compressive strength of GCPIâ „ ¢ PI exposed to 450F in air for 500 hours. At 600F, no weight or strength change takes place for 100 hrs.
GCPITM injection products are PI alloys designed for injection molding and extrusion. Combining the superior mechanical properties and thermal resistance of PI with the melt processability of general plastics , these products offer performance, cost-effectively. From this group stems four commercially available alloys available in pellet form.
GCPIâ „ ¢ â € ” J1 This is the unfilled base resin which provides maximum physical properties and best electrical and thermal insulation.
GCPIâ „ ¢ â € ” J2 The incorporation of 15% graphite and 10% TEFLON results in a GCPI grade that exhibits the lowest coefficient of friction over a wide range of operating conditions and also has got the lowest wear rate up to 150Â ° C.
GCPIâ „ ¢ â € ” J33 This grade contains 30% carbon fiber, added to provide long wear and low friction.
GCPIâ „ ¢ â € ” J43 This grade contains 30% glass fiber, added to provide long wear.
