Lila Malanga or Quequisque is native to tropical America and can reach 2 meters in height. Quequisque is a starchy root and is the third most consumed in Nicaragua after potatoes and cassava and second in relation to the total land area planted behind cassava. Of all roots and tubers exported from Nicaragua, Lila Malanga or Quequisque ranks number one. Lila Malanga is available all year.
