Gardenia yellow is a natural pigment extracted from gardenia. It¡¯s rich in ¦Â-Carotene. It is traditional Chinese medicine materials listed in the ¡°National Homologous of Medicine and Food Catalogue¡±.
The main ingredients of Gardenia yellow are crocin and crocetin, which are rare water-soluble carotenoid. They are nontoxic and harmless, and with nutritive value can enhance the bile secretion and transforms into Vitamin A.
