Hygia Cast Plus – Orthopedic casting tape
Intended Use
Hygia Cast Plus is intended for use in the construction of most common orthopedic casts, as well as specialized prosthetics and orthotic devices.
Product Characteristics
Hygia Cast Plus is comprised of a knitted polyester or fiberglass fabric impregnated with water or moisture-activated polyurethane resin. Exposure of Hygia Cast Plus to moisture or water initiates a chemical reaction for uncured resin to set.
Product Features
Strength: 20 times harder than traditional plaster of Paris bandages.
Excellent radiolucency: Clearer X-ray images make it easier to take a correct diagnosis for a patient’s bone setting. This is especially important in the treatment of distal radius or ulna fractures or fractures of the wrist bone.
Lighter: 5 times lighter than traditional plaster of Paris bandages.
Molding capability: Extensible yarns make it easier to apply and shape the contours of human body and bony prominence such as joints, elbow, ankle and heel without tucking or folding.
Less Dust: When cut, it produces less dust than traditional plaster of Paris bandages.
Easy removal: Cut by a regular cast cutter easily.
Vibrant Colors: 9 colors available (white, green, pink, blue, red, yellow, gray, black, purple)
