PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia ( IAMI) is the sole agent and manufacturer of Isuzu diesel-engined commercial vehicles and their components. Sole distributor Isuzu Sales Operation ( ISO) offers multi-functional commercial vehicles, made up of Panther ( MPV) , Isuzu Pick-up, D-Max ( Pick-up 4x4) , Bison ( Pick-up) , N series ( Light Truck/ category 2) , and F series ( Medium Truck/ category 3) .
Total sales of Isuzu was 33, 165 units in 2012, up by 15.4% from 28, 746 units the year before, with a market share relatively unchanged at about 3.0% . Isuzuâ € ™ s commercial vehicles improved its performance in terms of market share, whereas Panther sales declined due to consumersâ € ™ general tendency to switch to smaller cars.
In 2012, operational focus was directed toward boosting market share of the commercial vehicle segment through more competitive pricing and product development strategies, particularly by introducing eight new variants to build a more comprehensive F series category and making enhancements on seven variants of the N series. Further expansion of the distribution network was carried out by adding new sales outlets from a total of 86 outlets to 92 outlets ( Astra: 39, Non-Astra: 53) , whereas the number of spare part shops increased from 1, 611 shops in 265 cities in 2011 to 1, 802 shops in 295 cities.
