This instrument is used to determine whether a coal type is suitable for use in boilers and it determines four characteristic temperatures of coal ash, which are critical to the boiler functioning properly and to avoid slagging and fouling. After putting the pyramids, all the analysis is automatic and the four characteristic temperatures can be identified by software automatically. It is equipped with CCD Camera which records each pyramid image on a rotating 5-position carousel: Deformation Temperature ( DT) , Softening ( Sphere) Temperature ( ST) , Hemisphere Temperature ( HT) and Flow Temperature ( FT) .
