Company SUMBER NADI ALAM Sendirian Berhad was incorporated on 7th January, 2000 as a private limited company under the Malaysian Companies Act 1965. The companyâ € ™ s principal activities are in the operation management of an aquaculture farm for prawn breeding and the marketing of fresh prawn and its related products. The prawn types are Black Tiger ( P. Monodon) and White Prawn ( P. Vannamei) .

The companyâ € ™ s maiden project was to revive the operations of prawn farming activity in Bukit Malut, Langkawi. The farm had 31 ponds in about 282 acres of land that is leased to Lembaga Kemajuan Ikan Malaysia ( LKIM) and Majuikan Sendirian Berhad ( a subsidiary of LKIM) by the Kedah state government.

The first phase of operation began with 10 ponds and SNA had successfully revived its operation and performed the first harvest inearly 2003. The company is now gearing towards the second phase of its operations to revive all the other ponds. LKIM had 31 ponds but SNA has added another 8 ponds, making the total to 39. If the total land area is utilized, there could be up to 50 ponds. SNA is currently leasing the land from LKIM for a period of 15 years. However, action is being taken to purchase the land which belongs to the Kedah state government. Total assets of SNA can be capitalized to RM8 Million.

SNA is operating a program wherein potential interested JV partners may purchase a specified number of prawn fries from SNA which will then be farmed in a selected pond on the prawn farm by SNA and later sold by SNA on behalf of the JV partners to third parties.

SUMBER NADI ALAMâ € ™ S immediate action plan is to concentrate in the fresh prawn market. However, in the mid term, the company plans to invest into cold room, processing and packaging facility for diversification into frozen and process prawn product for better positioning in this industry.

Our core business is in the operation/ management of prawn aquaculture farming and the marketing of fresh prawns and its related products. As such the company business activities includes:
Operations of prawn breeding activities that involve larvae management such as food formulation and feeding as well as disease prevention.
Conduct routine operation/ maintenance schedules and related equipment such as operating parameters i.e. salinity, pH, temperature, oxygen level, etc.
Harvesting and marketing of fresh prawns.
