Lacquer Thread Sculpture ( LTS) is a tranditional artware of China. Expecially in Xiamen, the southeast city of Fujian Province. Lacquer ware has 7, 000 years history in China and the LTS has more than 300 years history. At early time the artware only collected in the temple or the royal family.

The main steps of making the LTS are as follows:

1. Preparing the material: the main material of LTS is lacquer and the special brick powder. The lacquer is from chinese lacquer trees. It is said that only you walked more than one hundred miles road and cut thousands of blades that you can get 50g lacquer.

2. Twisting thread: mixed the lacquer and the powder, hitting for a couple of hours, and then twisting into a line which as thin as a piece of hair.

3. Working process: strip, plate, entangle, pile, carve, enchase, engrave, about dozens of working procedures. Coil around each kind of essence on the utensil to float the shape just as dragon, phenix, hawk, peony, scenery, lily, rabbit and many kinds of mascot.

4. Gilding the surface: gilded 24K 98.9% pure gold.
