Main features
Due to special downhole construction environment, mine TEM is much different from ground TEM and other mine prospecting methods, it has the following features:
1. Limited by downhole construction space, it cannot apply big loop ( side length more than 50m) that used in ground survey. It can just use multiple ramps small frame with side length less than 3m, so comparing to ground TEM, it has advantages like portable device, high efficiency and low cost etc., and can be used in laneway ( limit length or tunneling prospecting forward etc.) which other mine prospecting method cannot construct.
2. Because of small loop measurement, the point distance is more dense ( 2~ 20m) , volume effect is decreased, lateral resolution is increased. Then measuring device is near to target, the induction signal is strong, so it has high prospecting sensitivity.
3. Using small frame to transmit the direction of electromagnetic wave, it can detect the space distribution of abnormity containing water on coal mining face top and bottom, also detect leading ( containing) water structure concealed at laneway tunneling frontage.
4. Affected by transmitting currency shut time, the distortion of early signals causes it cannot prospect shallow geological abnormity, the blind area is usually about 20m.
5. The data is liable to interference by metal objects like coal mining machine, transformer, metal bracket, drainpipe and so on, we need to amend or eliminate in data processing and interpretation.
