For many years the owner of the company has been working in Africa and Asia in a large number of developing projects as team leader or chief technical advisory. Main activities were often community based forestry activities and the improvements of the administrative systems involved including the reorganization of forest departments.

Often the assistance focussed on community building and organizational strengthening, but the development of the market for the communities to sell their forestry products was often overlooked or underestimated

From 2004 onwards experiences have been gained how to support small furniture companies that want to enter the European market. Together with these companies production systems have been developed with a mixture of old and new systems. Some of the companies are certified now and produce better quality products for the European markets.
With other companies samples have been made from rest wood to increase the efficiency of the wood use. In addition wood from new species have been developed to introduce the new wood in Europe.

In 2007 QTI was registered in Indonesia and together with a very competent team of Indonesian staff and with good connection to the market in Europe orders are placed in small to medium companies. Together with the company owners plans are made and executed to improve the production quality and if possible introduce the certification of the products.

The QTI intentions on the long run are to develop into a company of maximum 20-25 persons. The staff will be placed on short term assignments within the small and medium enterprises to improve their performances.
The companies together will form a very flexible medium to large scale production facility for the European and Asian market.
