Fresh Water Distiller ( FWD) desalinate sea water or purify brackish water making it suitable for domestic or industrial uses - in sea or land based applications.
FWD use a distillation process using SONDEX PHE technology. The system contains two specially designed titanium plate PHE acting as an evaporator and condenser inside a vacuum chamber - enabling the sea water or brackish water to be evaporated at very low temperatures below 48° C.
The heat required to achieve evaporation is obtained from waste heat sources, such as engine jacket water or steam - meaning the energy cost of running the unit can be virtually zero.
