This colorimeter is designed for used in educational establishments including sixth from colleges, secondary schools, technical schools and colleges. It features large, uncluttered, digital display and simple push button controls. It is also compact and robust enough to withstand the rigours of the teaching environment.
This unit has eight filters – 440, 470, 490, 520, 550, 580, 590, and 680 nm – are encased in an integral filter wheel and the wavelength required is obtained by rotating this until the relevant, color coded, number is visible in the indicator window. Results can be displayed as absorbance units or % transmission. Kinetics mode can also be used to study rates of reaction and enzyme kinetics. Analogue and digital outputs allow choice of output to a chart recorder, PC or printer. The drain hold at the bottom of the cell compartment makes any spilt liquids drain out of the instruments and makes cleaning easier.

Both models are provided with universal power supplies of 110-250V. Model 39459-62 also has build in NiMH rechargeable battery. The samples can be measured in either standard 10mm pathlength cuvettes or in 16mm diameter test tubes with adapters.
