EXTRACTION OF PERILLA LEAF
The decoction of the dried leaves afforded by boiling water gives an extract with greater anti-allergy activity than that obtained using aqueous ethanol and avoids the precipitation problems caused by chlorophyll etc., in the aqueous ethanol extract.
SPRAY DRYING
By the addition of dextrin to the aqueous Perilla extract, followed by spray drying, a stable powdered form is achieved, namely, Perilla extract powder.
