This variety grows in waste place of plane land & are available in two forms, datura alba ( safed datura) and datura niger ( kala datura) .

Kala datura is deep purple coloured plant. Its poisonous plant, but the fruits & the seeds are most dangerous.Tropane alkaloid ( hyocine, atropine, hyoscyamines, scopolamine) , fixed oil ( 15-30% ) , metiloidine ( toxic principle) . There are 2 varieties:

White datura and black datura. It is used in allopathic system. It is CNS depressant which is main function of alkaloids present in it.it has sedative action.It is used in motion sickness and CNS disorders.Used for relieving pain.It is used as tranquilizer.
