Why you need capacitor bank?
Moving forwards higher energy efficiancy, most utility company imposes penalty on industrial/ commercial users with low power factor. To correct power factor, the most cost effective way is to install dry type capacitor bank either at source or inside switchboard. ELCO Capacitor Bank is particularly convinient to use for medium to large switchboard where the kVAR rating for each step is higher than 30 kVAR. It is because each unit of ELCO Capacitor Bank can go up to 100kVAR, therefore, no further parallel connection or ' coupling' is required.
