We do understand there are different needs even in one project, let’ s take the supermarket application for an example, cold storage area requires only permeated airflow which settles down from the ducts on the top because of relative larger density than ambient air, so as not to disturb cold air distribution in ice box; For ordinary shopping area, the air velocity controlled between 0.3 m/ s to 0.5m/ s will just do the job. In cashing area, however, instead of walking by, large numbers of customers would stand still in the long queue before the cashier waiting for the check out, they are hot and probably impatience, to cool them down, we need to increase the air velocity to 0.5m/ s.
Given the air pressure and air velocity of AHU, we can firstly choose the applicable duct diameter accordingly, then, based on actual air conditioning & ventilating demands from particular functional areas, the position and diameter of the orifices as well as the permeability of fabric are determined.
