Dj Flex Discograph
Alex a.k.a Flex was born at Jakarta in 1984, in the age of 14 he was moved to jogjakarta, and years later he played an instrumental for the jogjakarta’s underground dance music scene. Producing underground dance music for almost two years now, long time DJ Flex is currently enjoying the most productive period in his career with main room sets at many club in jakarta. Able to spin energetic progressive to trance through to full on freeform, Flex is a lively, versatile performer and having toured across java and lampung he is now set to explode on to the big stage. Anyone in the know, will say it’s a long time coming!
Flex most successful production is almost certainly one of his most recent. Licensed to Bonkers 12, caned on the rave circuit and a huge vinyl seller, 'Atomic Orbital' is his most competent outing to date and incorporates an epic, building breakdown some ethereal, choral vocals and Mark’s trademark driving synth work. With more releases ready to explode, Mark has now set up his own studio at home and will be bombarding the hardcore population with his driving take on the freeform genre.
Having already played at events such as Logic, Atomic Energy and Corrosive Mark is now looking to making a serious impact as a DJ within the UK rave scene. No stranger to the big stage, Mark has already enjoyed a month long tour of Australia, playing at Hyperspeed in Sydney, where he unleashed a full-on 5 am freeform journey to over 1,000 revelers, at St Paul’s in Adelaide. Here a disused church setting played host to another memorable Mark Ashley performance, sun streaming through stained glass windows midway through his set. He also played a spectacular Mayday party on the Gold Coast. The tour proved a huge success and Mark hopes to return to sometime in the not too distant future.
Meanwhile on our own shores, Mark stepped things up with a recent set at HTID and had to be prised away from the decks after filling the floor with bouncing, grinning ravers. Unsurprisingly, he has been invited back to play the HTID New Years Day party and is also booked for a main room back to back session with Eryk Orpheus at the Mass for Atomic Energy.
An active contributor on all levels of the scene, Mark continues to promote the respected internet radio station www.harddance.net, playing a weekly show of twisted hard trance and cutting-edge freeform.
