Helicopter Landing Officer COURSE AIM To provide participants with the knowledge to function effectively and safely as a Helicopter Landing Officer ( HLO) at installation in accordance with current industry standards COURSE CONTEN On Completion, participant will have an understanding and a thorough knowledge of the following : • Legislation of Indonesian aircraft. • Transmit and receive radio messages between the helicopter and platform. • Advise the helicopter pilot of weather, wind and sea conditions on site. • Understanding of helideck operation and safety requirements/ procedures. • Ascertain and advise the helicopter pilot as to whether safety requirements related to aircraft operations • Supervise the movement of passengers, baggage and cargo to and from helicopter • Familiarity with different helicopter types and their operation and emergency procedures • Advise shore stations of helicopter movements, estimated time of arrival ( ETA) , estimated time of departure ( ETD) and manifest details • Ensuring adequate fire protection is provided for each take off and landing • Familiarity with management of dangerous goods ( DG) • Helicopter refuelling and procedures ( offshore) • Basic marshaling signals • Shutdown and security of aircraft on helideck • Refuelling Procedures COMPETENCY Participants are required to pass an assessment and written or verbal examination of theory Two ( 2) years licences from DGAC ( DEPHUBUD) PRE REQUISITE Participants graduated from Senior High School or should be reasonably familiar with helicopter landing INSTRUCTORS Team from Directorates General of Aircraft and Communication ( DEPHUBUD) which is responsible for regulating and enforcing the safety of aircraft ( including helicopters) in flight
