Consistence Setting Time,
Workability and Flow
Determination of setting time and soundness of cement
requires the use of a neat cement paste of standard
consistence. The Vicat method is usually specified as
the test used to determine the water content which will
produce the desired consistence.

This procedure is used to determine the quantity of
water required to produce a cement paste of standard
consistence.
