Company Brief

PPSW ( Center for for Women' s Resources Development) was founded in 1986. PPSW' s primary objective is the empowerment of women, in particular those women in the lowest socio-economic strata of society in urban and rural areas. PPSW selected a number of issues of importance as its primary focus in providing a point of entry into community organising, particularly among womenâ € ™ s groups. These focal issues include economic, health and education problems.

In order to achieve these aims PPSW undertakes various activities which include facilitating communities through assorted training and workshop programs in accordance with their needs, as well as the development of community organizations and networks to advocate for their interests. In addition, PPSW undertakes research, publishing, seminars and workshops in efforts to support the activities that it implements within these communities.

Up to the present, PPSW has been actively involved in assisting the development of women-focused grass-root level communities in 6 provinces of Indonesia, including Aceh, Riau, DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java and West Kalimantan. Previously PPSW also provided community-based assistance in the Provinces of North Sumatera, Central Java and East Java. Since 2005, PPSW has formed 3 autonomous institutions within 3 districts of which it executes its programs, namely PPSW Jakarta, PPSW West Java-Banten and PPSW Borneo.
